Whatever brings you here, we can start there.
You don't need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling. You might know exactly what you want to talk about or you might simply know that something doesn't feel quite right.
You don't need a diagnosis, a particular problem or even the right words. Counselling can be a place to talk openly, understand yourself more deeply and explore whatever is happening in your life at your own pace.

Anything that's affecting you.
People come to counselling for all sorts of reasons. You might be experiencing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, relationship difficulties, perfectionism, loneliness or a period of change.
You might also find that nothing is obviously "wrong". Perhaps you're functioning perfectly well on the outside but something doesn't feel right underneath.
You may spend a lot of time looking after other people and have lost sight of what you need. Or you may simply want somewhere to understand yourself better.
You don't need to fit into a particular category to come to counselling.

I'm a person-centred therapist, and at the heart of my approach is a simple belief: you are not a problem that needs to be fixed.
There are often good reasons we've become who we are and good reasons we feel the way we feel.
Rather than deciding what your problem is or telling you what to do, I'll work alongside you to understand your experiences, relationships and the things that have shaped you.
Over time, counselling can create room to hear yourself more clearly and make choices that feel more like your own.
We’ll begin with a free introductory call. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions, briefly discuss what you’re looking for, and see whether working together feels right. There’s no obligation to book a session afterwards.

Sessions last 50 minutes and take place online or by telephone. You decide whichever feels more comfortable for you.
There isn't an agenda you need to follow. Some sessions might involve exploring something painful from your past. Others might be about something that happened yesterday.
Sometimes you may arrive without knowing what you want to talk about at all. That's okay. We begin wherever you are.
